Situated close to Reims Cathedral the walls of the workshop are unique tools. With ceilings twice the normal height the art glass panels can be exposed over a surface area of 6 meters enabling a real life situation to work in. Moreover an enormous stock of plot and flash glasses, which has been improved by the help of the painters, offers an exceptional selection.

Today, l’Atelier Simon MARQ is basing its methods and techniques on ancestral traditions of stained glass artists but is constantly striving to improve on the most elaborate new techniques, thanks to the participation of each “companion”. A fitting example is the studio’s experiments with the acid etching of flashed glass. This enables you to achieve subtle shades of colour and a play of light between opaque and transparent glass. In 1958, this technique was developed in collaboration with Jacques VILLON and perfected with Marc CHAGALL confering to the workshop the real position of the workshop in the art design.
